Introduction to Purple Coach Conversations

Get to know why we created Purple Coach Conversations and what we are looking to achieve on this platform. We warmly welcome your participation with questions and comments. After all, this is about conversations that we should all be having!

How to Have Difficult Conversations

Have you ever struggled to have a conversation about race and diversity but not known how to go about it? Perhaps you’re unsure of how to start or what is or isn’t okay to say? Or maybe you just want to educate yourself and those around you about how to have conversations about racism and diversity without fear or judgment? This episode will look at how to start having those open conversations, no matter what ethnic group you are!

How to Have Conversations Around Race As Parents - Part 1

Being a parent is about making sure that you educate your children to be the best humans they can be, in all aspects of their lives. This should also include having a conversation about race, diversity, and inclusion of everyone. We believe that if these conversations were had at an early age, we couldn’t be having the current high levels of racism and discrimination we see across the world. The days of teaching our children to be ‘colour-blind’ are gone. Teach them to accept all colours in the magnificent beautiful they all represent!

How to Have Conversations Around Race As Parents - Part 2

In this second part of “How To Have Conversations Around Race As Parents” we discuss how to have conversations around implicit biases, prejudice, White privilege, and skin colour. It’s not an easy topic to cover with smaller children but we need to be aware of the importance of having honest conversations with our children around these matters.
